Exsel Pumps was called upon to supply a system that could over pump heavily ragged material from the storm tanks in Crossness STW, which will increase the holding capacity, alleviating the need to discharge into the Thames river.

Initially, the contractor was using several end suction pumps supplied by other rental companies, but Exsel proposed a more cost effective option utilising an electric driven immersible pump and generator. This negated the need for multiple end suction pumps, running in tandem, this system would have cost more money and time. Instead the selected option was to utilise the existing sump at the rear of the tanks where the client would position the pump and pump directly into screens, situated at the opposite end of the storm tanks approximately 350m away.

The F06K pump increased the clients production from 120m3 per day to 490m3 per day, allowing the client to make up lost time due to incorrect equipment selection by other rental companies. The client is very happy with our solution, service and equipment capabilities, which has reduced cost and allowed them to get back on schedule.

The equipment supplied, was configured so the client could easily perform the installation. However, Exsel did express it’s capabilities to supply a full installation and commissioning service.
